The Ruskin Christian School Elementary Program serves students in K5-6th grades. In the elementary grades, students develop a love for learning and are challenged to work to their learning potential and to discover their individual capabilities. Students gain knowledge and an understanding of how things fit together in God's plan. The academic program centers around language arts with an emphasis on phonics and reading, language, math skills, science, social studies and Bible. Art, music, computer, library, and PE, media center, fine arts, Spanish, and chapel.

Focuses On…

  • Phonics and Reading - students learn to read by mastering the sounds that letters symbolize.

  • Students will learn over 400 vocabulary words in their basic phonics reading series and reading groups.

  • Telling time, number counting, addition, and money value.

  • Bible and chapel (including scripture memorization)

  • Bible time goes through the Life of Moses, Joshua, Judges, David, and favorite Bible stories.

  • The students will continue to learn science and history through a Biblical Worldview.

  • They will finish reading groups and finish the year by reading Charlotte’s Web.
